Vinted Members Express Anger Regarding Sizing Changes

Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change.

Online Platforms Response

Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping.

The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.

The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.

Sizing System Updates

Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

User Experiences

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained.

Marketplace Information

The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.

It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
