Juventus have chosen former Italy boss Spalletti to take the helm for the rest of the term.
The experienced coach takes over from Igor Tudor, who was let go after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio on Sunday.
Tudor arrived at the club in March to replace Thiago Motta but left after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.
Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, after the team's failure to reach the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.
Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.
Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.
He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.
Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese moving them to seventh position in the league - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.
They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
